Things are so different now from back in the days when I used to go to church. In the last 8 years there has been such a big Christian movement - and at the same time there's more racism, sexism, paranoia, fear, and outright hatred - from those who scream loudest that they are God-fearing people.
Am I missing something here? What does any of this have to do with the Bible and Christianity? Didn't Jesus preach love and peace and all that, or was that a different Jesus?
And explain how this Christian Florida pastor's proposed burning of a Koran is going to be copacetic with Jesus or what he taught? A deliberate act of hatred will prove what? That Christians are on the right track if they are capable of such great hatred?
If so, count me out.

Don't get me wrong - just because I'm not blogging daily doesn't mean I don't have opinions which are right!
Like this one.
Some cultures have this great tradition where you show up at someone's house and you're immediately served a cup of tea or coffee before getting down to business or visiting. It's simply charming and sensible.

Don't Tax On Me

We want national security. We want international security. Some of us wanted the war in Iraq. (Some of us didn't, and we got it and have it.) Some of us want the war in Afghanistan. (Some of us didn't, and we got it and have it.) We want policemen for protection and park officials for patrolling national parks. We want good roads. We want our services. We want it all, and we deserve it all.
But don't raise my taxes - nobody wants to pay for it.
So - who's going to pay for all this?
Yo Mamma?

Which should be more accurately called Paranoid White Racist American Law.
"They take away our jobs!" Uh - no they don't. How many Americans work for $1 an hour in the fields and live 15 to a one-room shack? How many of you are going to whine, complain, blame the guv'ment, weep and gnash your teeth when the prices of: fruits, vegetables, housing, construction, hotels, fast food, car repair, and, well, just about everything, goes up, because these Undesirables no longer work on the cheap for us all?
Instead of building a Berlin wall, shooting perpetrators, or barricading yourself in your home so as not to be near 'those people,' think about some options.
Like: if the illegals were legalized and made to: pay taxes, social security and medicare, buy health and car insurance, they 1) wouldn't want to come here so much and 2) they'd be contributing to society, bring medical and car insurance costs down, and helping pay for the system that supports them now for free. That would mean, more savings, more money, for you and me!
A wall's not going to keep them out, border patrols won't keep them out; they aren't going to stop driving cars and using hospitals; ain't no white people going to be flooding the fields to take the illegals' jobs; white officials' hands and pockets will get greased to look the other way just as easily as they are now... so let's think about the realities (one of which is NOT a pure white members-only United White States) before blood is shed over this.

wow. listen to all those people complaining they can't get a flight home from their vacations in Europe because of the grounding of flights due to the ash clouds from the Iceland volcano eruption.
One would think the Air Transportation WhoHahs are basing their decisions on the safety of passengers and the desire to prevent tragedies of crashed airplanes and dead people. I reckon it would be worth it to be stuck in Spain or France if there was a possibility I might die in a plane crash. I could eat lots of tapas and pastries and read a couple of books while I waited.
Think of the even louder outcries (from these same people) if a plane crashes because it flew too soon when it wasn't that safe.
Is it worth just one plane crashing?
Are they all really in THAT big a hurry to get home?
Would you be willing to gamble on the odds?
